...with both feet! Tomorrow will be one week since Quinn has been home. She has experienced many firsts and has adjusted to her new life better than we ever imagined. We have stayed pretty busy around here and Quinn has taken it all in stride.
(by the way, this girl is all about her shoes!)
We are hearing more and more conversations from Quinn each day. She will go on and on about something, all in Mandarin, and we try to figure out what she is talking about. She is very interested in learning what things are and repeats whatever we say in English. I have a feeling that she will pick up our language very quickly. The other day, I logged onto my "Chinese for Parents" website to work on a few lessons (my Mandarin is just horrible). She was mesmerized with the videos! One part of the lessons teach you how to sing a few children songs in Mandarin. When the instructor started singing the songs, she joined right in. I was so impressed!
She has fallen head over heals in love with her siblings. The 3 of them are very sweet with Quinn and it's just so nice to see them all interacting so well. Ava has done much better with "sharing" her sister and we are very proud of her. We love watching these two girls playing.....neither one really understanding what the other one is saying, but they are still having lots of fun together.
Today, Quinn had her first official play date. We met up with my good friend, Nicole, who just got back with Peyton about a month ago. Her two girls are virtual twins, one from China and one from Russia.

The girls! (it was tough getting them to sit still for the pics)
We are so excited to add Miss Wren, our friend Shana's little girl, to this mix. Wren has been home from China for about 3 weeks and is getting heart surgery next week. We are all praying for little Wren to have a great outcome from her surgery and a fast recovery! We can't wait to get her in the middle of the craziness.

Smiling ear to ear seeing Quinn, Ava and Pei together! Simply too cute. I'm so happy for you all.
ReplyDeleteLooks like she is settling so very nicely!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for thinking about us, we were so sad to miss all the fun! I won't tell Wren she missed anything;) The girls look so precious together it is painful not to see them is person. Hopefully soon!
