Red Thread Cousins...would you believe?

There are two little girls in China who will soon become cousins. Not only will they become cousins forever, but they will actually get to meet IN CHINA! I'm so excited to announce that Quinn and her soon to be cousin, Gianna, will take their infamous Red Coach photo TOGETHER!

My sister-in-law (and very good friend!), Kerri, along with my brother-in-law, Bart, will be traveling to China the same time we are. They are adopting a little 3 year old girl from Guizhou. I can honestly say that Kerri was such a HUGE part of this whole adoption journey. She has had international adoption on her mind for several years now and was the one who encouraged me to follow my heart in the beginning. We jumped in with both feet last October and Kerri and Bart followed several months later. Due to our time difference in the process, we never imagined that we'd be traveling together. This was before our tragic news about McKenna. We knew our time frame would be set back by several months. So, through all of our grief, I hoped that maybe.....just MAYBE.....we'd catch back up to Kerri and Bart. How amazing it would be to experience this journey together.

And now, this is exactly what has happened!

We have plans to meet up in San Francisco (they are from KC) and then take a flight to Honk Kong. We'll all spend 2 days in Hong Kong, enjoying the sites there, and then separate to our girls' provinces on a Sunday. We'll meet back up in Guangzhou the next Friday and Bart will fly home early due to military orders. We are so relieved that we'll be with Kerri and Gianna because she was going to be alone on this part of the trip!!! This is where our girls will get to meet. Can't wait to post some pictures of that first day.

We are busy with our packing lists and trying to get things crossed off. Being gone for 18 days creates a LOT of planning! Couple that in with our jobs and kids, well.....let's just say there has been a dose of pure craziness going on around here. :)

So, I'm off to tackle part of that never ending list.....
